The ground beneath our feet keeps changing, keeps pace with the seasons, and now Spring is in the air.
The return of birdsong in the morning; the call of a woodcock the other night, at dusk, in the back field; the slight movement of a red fox in the ravine (we’ve seen it twice, a quick red furry motion).
More and more sunlight fills the days, and cabin fever lifts. Soon we will be planting snow peas. And arugula can be planted in “late winter.” If March 1 begins the planting season, it’s only a few days away.
