This Spring, after the snows melted, I found a dried tomatillo husk by the wooded ravine, a remnant of last year’s garden.
I brought the flimsy husk inside and it has moved around the studio space for months, up on a shelf, or on the big work table, or just sitting atop a pile of books. I scanned it the other day, adjusted the black/white levels in Photoshop dramatically, and this image was the result: mysterious and elegant, like something out of the sea, or out of a dream.
